Your Discover Scuba Diving experience begins with a relaxed theory briefing, where your instructor explains the essential equipment, underwater breathing, equalising and hand signals. After your training session, take a short 10–15-minute boat ride to one of Playa del Carmen’s local reefs for a real open-water dive in the warm Caribbean Sea. Frequently asked questions
Basic comfort in the water is enough. You don't need to be a strong swimmer — your instructor stays with you and you wear buoyancy gear the entire time.
Discover Scuba Diving is an introductory experience, not a certification course. If you love it, we can credit it toward a full Open Water course.
It's completely normal to feel nervous. We go entirely at your pace, practise skills in shallow water first, and your instructor can surface with you at any moment.
