Explore the Mexican Caribbean on a two-tank scuba diving trip in Playa del Carmen, designed for certified divers who want to discover the area’s colourful reefs, gentle currents and abundant marine life.
Your half-day diving experience begins with hotel pickup in central Playa del Carmen and transfer to the dive centre. After check-in, equipment fitting and a detailed dive briefing, board the boat and head to two carefully selected reef sites located just off the Riviera Maya coastline.
Playa del Carmen is well known for its Caribbean reef diving and gentle drift dives. Follow your bilingual divemaster as the current carries you past coral formations, schools of tropical fish, sea turtles, eagle rays, stingrays and barracudas. During the winter season, bull sharks may also be encountered at selected dive sites.
The first dive is usually a drift dive, although a deeper dive can be arranged on request for divers with the appropriate certification and experience. After a relaxed surface interval with water and refreshments on board, continue to a second reef site featuring different underwater landscapes and marine life.
This experience includes two guided boat dives, full scuba equipment fitted to your size, tanks and weights, the marine park fee, drinking water, a bilingual divemaster and round-trip transportation from selected hotels in Playa del Carmen. Nitrox is available on request for suitably certified divers.
A minimum Open Water Diver certification or equivalent is required, and you must present your certification card at check-in. Divers who have not been underwater recently can request a refresher session before joining the trip.
